Jim Pitt
President & CEO
Jim Pitt has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Navigata Communications Ltd. effective July 18, 2005.
Before joining Navigata, Mr. Pitt worked with GT Group Telecom, where his most recent position was Vice President General Manager Eastern and Atlantic Regions, National Partner Program. Jim has held numerous other positions within GT Group Telecom since 1999, including responsibility for Carrier sales, and Carrier and Cable relations.
Previous to his employment with GT Group Telecom, Jim held positions in Shaw Communications from 1995 to 1999 including Vice President General Manager Shaw Paging and Vice President General Manager Shaw Mobilecomm.
Working in Canada’s flourishing telecom industry for over twenty years, Mr. Pitt brings a wealth of knowledge, insight and a passion to drive business forward to the Navigata team.
J. Owen Gilbert
Vice President, Sales & Customer Service
Previous to his promotion to Vice President of Sales & Customer Service at Navigata, Mr. Gilbert held the position of Director, Carrier Relations & Customer Service. In this position, Mr. Gilbert managed all aspects of Navigata’s Carrier relationships, including sales, provisioning and account development. He was also responsible for the day to day management of Navigata’s Care Centre and the escalation of customer issues.
Mr. Gilbert joined Navigata in May of 1999 as the Manager, Switch Engineering. In the past six years, he has held progressive positions in the company, primarily focused on the customer relationship side of the business. Prior to this, Owen held a position as a Manager Network Strategy at ACC. In his six years there, he held management positions in customer service, technology and development as well as network planning.
With more than thirteen years of telecommunications experience including Carrier Sales, Customer Service, Network Planning and technology consulting, Mr. Gilbert has the knowledge and experience to lead Navigata’s sales and customer service organizations into the next generation of the ever-changing telecom industry.
